Weeknotes: Alpha Web Team 19/08/16

This week we have been spending time looking at topics and conducting research with various groups.

Kheira ran a workshop with stakeholders on topics exploring two themes: what do we mean by topics and what we need to build out of topics.  Along with Ganesh, Ed and Rebecca, she observed a workshop run by Bunnyfoot with members of the public on topics/issues.  She also talked to Oswin who is on secondment from the Lords Committees about our user research process.

Edward has secured an agreement for a consultative approach to committee reports/research briefings.  He also looked at different websites that do topics with Jack, Ganesh and Anya and together they identified good and bad features.

Jack has been trying out different prototyping tools and carrying out more research into topics.

Rebecca and Giuseppe organised Codebar this week which was very successful.  Thank you to Emma, Julie, Berenice and Alix for their help in organising the event!  We also enjoyed an interesting trip to the BBC Blue Room organised by Vanda.  We were able to explore and play with different technologies such as Internet of Things, Virtual Reality, new video sharing/social media apps, broadcasting technologies and robots.

On the development side, we began working on a content driven prototype with Samu to explore dynamic routing, navigation, templating and page composition.
