We hope this blog is helping to make Parliament more open, transparent and accessible. We encourage our readers to comment on posts and give us feedback and we aim to publish all comments, whether positive or negative. We won't, however, publish comments which are in breach of our moderation policy.
All comments are moderated before being published and we aim to respond to any comments within 24 hours (during office hours).
We won’t publish any comments that fall into these categories:
- use of inflammatory language
unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable comments are not acceptable
- comments that have swear words
- comments that look like spam
this means comments that have been posted to more than one conversation or more than once
we can only accept comments that are your own opinion. We’ll remove comments where we suspect a commenter has a vested interest
- not using your real name or impersonating someone else
adopting an inappropriate user name (one that is vulgar, offensive etc) is also unacceptable
- if you include your own or anyone else's personal details
- only include links to relevant websites
links to websites we consider unsuitable will be removed. If you're considering including a URL, please make sure that it adds value and interest to the subject of your recommendation. Unsuitable sites would include those with racist material, pornographic or sexually explicit material, potentially defamatory material, anything which encourages illegal activities, material which infringes copyright, sites which purely plug or promote commercial products or services without containing material which enhances the subject matter, or sites which may offend our users
- no harassment
we welcome feedback, both positive and negative, about our work but please make sure your comments are in line with the above house rules. Repeatedly posting personal or offensive comments about individual members of the public or people who work for the PDS may be considered harassment, and these comments will not be published
