To everyone reading this I am Alexander Fedotov and I am 15 years old, from Fleet, Hampshire. This week I’ve been working with the Website Alpha team and I have greatly enjoyed it!
This week we have been testing and iterating on our HTML prototype focusing on members and issues. We have also expanded our data prototype, incorporating data on committees.
This week we’ve all been working on getting ready for the mid-week show and tell and planning the fourth sprint. There was also good news as Berenice has joined the team as a Programme and Project Officer.
In the different areas I’ve worked - I’m from the Commons Library, but have spent some time in the Commons Committee Office – we’ve never excelled at getting good, quick feedback from Members or their staff.
This week we carried on with our MP and Lord prototype (I will write a more detailed blog on how we approached it later next week). Without further ado, this is what website alpha got up to this week.
Towards the end of May we went to see Matt Jukes at the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in Newport to learn from his experience as Product Lead building the new ONS website.
This week, we started Sprint 3 focusing on creating a Member page prototype for members of both houses.
This week, we have mainly spent time shadowing different offices in the House of Commons and House of Lords to gain a better understanding of the core role of Parliament and the Houses’ strategies.
For our first sprint we had a goal to produce a working in-browser prototype. It made sense to follow on from some of our work in the Fluxx rapid start incubation.
During the last sprint, Rebecca and I had the task of exploring technology stacks for the new website.
